The Campopalazzi Farm is located in a magnificent corner of Tuscany, near Casciano di Murlo (Siena).  The town is overflowing with evidence of the Etruscan civilization, an ancient population of true wine lovers and experts on wine cultivation.  It is made up of 47 hectares of land on the southwest side of Siena.  It is positioned at 400 meters above sea level.  Woods cover half of this land, 3 hectares make up the garden, 5 hectares make up the olive grove, and 6 hectares are covered with the Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. vineyards.  The most prevalent variety of grape is the Sangiovese, and only a small percentage of the vineyards are made up of Merlot and Canaiolo Nero.  A part of the vineyard has been nicknamed “Infernetto,” or “little hell,” for the steepness that makes working the land there very difficult.  The other part is called “Vigna al Bosco,” or “Vineyard of the Woods” due to the fact that it is completely surrounded by woods.  A distinguished oenologist, Dr. Marco Mocali, helps us with the wine making process, from the cultivation to aging and all the steps in between.  We produce a Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. that is not barrel aged, and two types of IGT wine, one of which, Tiniano, is aged in barrels.  Our desire to offer products to accommodate different tastes and needs led us to produce different types of wine.   You are very much encouraged to try Fattoria Campopalazzi’s wines and extra virgin olive oil!
